Road Conditions

Unsealed Roads

A number of roads in the Cloncurry Shire are unsealed. If you are planning to trek off main, sealed roads, it is recommended to become familiar with the road conditions and keep up to date when travelling.

Travelling During the Wet Season

From November to April, road conditions in northern Australia can be unpredictable and change rapidly. If you are planning a road trip during the wet season, check road conditions and weather reports before departing. Keep in mind that road shoulders can become soft after a heavy rain event and if it is flooded, forget it.
